About the Deputy
Tom McCambridge is the Deputy Tax Collector for Doylestown Township. All tax collectors, by law, are required to appoint a Deputy Collector and that Deputy has been approved by all three taxing authorities – Doylestown Township, Central Bucks School District and Bucks County. When Sarah cannot be in the office during public hours, she is assisted by Tom.
Tom earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Penn State University. He was employed by Central Bucks School District and after 32 years and retired as the Director of Finance (Superintendent’s Cabinet position). Before CBSD, he was employed by a prominent CPA firm in Doylestown from 1973-1980. While at this position and as part of CBSD annual audit, Tom audited both elected and appointed tax collectors from 1975-1980. In his retirement, he also works for a local tax preparation firm. Tom is a Pennsylvania Qualified Municipal Tax Collector, having earned this designation in 2013.
For the past 12 years Tom has been an usher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church. For the past 7 years, he has coordinated the annual Salvation Army Kettle collections in Doylestown. And after 24 years officiating youth through men’s leagues, he recently retired as a PIAA certified baseball umpire. Tom is married with 2 children and 2 grandchildren.
Tom brings over 42 years of real estate tax, accounting and customer service experience to the job and is an asset to the tax office and the community.
